BVL title

The V-MIX range of vertical diet feeders from BvL, the German Manufacturer, are able to chop and mix all feed stuffs including round bales of straw or silage, without the need of a separate bale chopper. The simplicity of design and the strength of build are the keys to the V-MIX’s superb chop and mix ability.

It can do this by virtue of a special auger and mount that protects the gear box from any shock loads when loading. (The gearbox is also protected by a shear bolt on the drive shaft.) Maintenance for the auger is very simple as there are external grease nipples on the outside of the machine.

With a smooth, rolled hopper made from at least 8mm SN52 steel, and the floor of at least 15mm thick SN52 steel, BvL have combined an ergonomic hopper design with typical tough German construction that gives a long, efficient and reliable working life. The mix produced is an ideal TMR that does not allow selective feeding and has real potential to increase yields.

The hopper is set on four weigh cells, that in conjunction with a weigh system and display, gives the user all the control needed to produce an accurate feed ration. On top of the hopper is an overflow ring that also acts as a strengthening ring when loading.

As no feed passages are the same, BvL have various discharge solutions available. The standard solution is a side door discharge for feeding on to the floor either simultaneously left and right or independently. Other options include side elevators from 50cm –2.25m for feeding over obstacles plus rear or front mounted cross conveyors with varie-speed controls. Combine this with the V-MIX’s range of sizes (6.5m3-40m3), plus the low loader model option (T) that reduces the overall height by 30cm and the fact that bespoke machines are available, BvL can put together the ideal machine for the vast majority of situations.
